FAQ

  • Tell me about yourself, professionally.

I’m Elizabeth; I have a Master’s Degree in User Experience Design and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a Minor in Psychology. Before working in design positions, I worked in the music industry in retail (and a couple coffee shops.) If it’s not already obvious, I’m extremely interested in the way people think and behave. I firmly believe in being open-minded and never losing curiosity, and I also have a deep desire to help people by meeting them where they’re at. These beliefs led me to study design.

  • Tell me about yourself, personally.

I’m very extroverted and love meeting new people! I am an avid record collector of music across all genres, and I love going to shows. I also love to travel, and I make it a point to visit at least three places I’ve never been every year. I really enjoy hiking, especially anywhere with mountains. I’m a big gamer, both on PC and console. I have a red Labrador Retriever named Rhett, who is the world’s biggest baby.

  • I’ve never heard of a red lab!

I hear that a lot! He’s just like your standard lab, except he’s red. Here’s a picture!

  • A red lab wearing a turqoise harness sitting in the woods on a trail with fallen leaves
  • Wait, what did you do before design?

Short answer: I worked in the music industry in sales!

Long answer: I managed a record store for about 3 years, doing a bit of everything: ordering, accounting, sales, inventory. I then moved into physical distribution as the account manager for our American and Canadian distribution partners, as well as 100 or so record store clients. I have a deep love for physical media, which balances out the time I spend working at a computer and on digital products.

  • So what do you like about design?

I love being able to use both the analytical and creative parts of me to solve problems. I really enjoy talking to and observing people, finding out where they’re having issues, and coming up with solutions that make their lives better. I don’t really believe in “edge cases” and want to design for everyone.

Let’s work together
